Colorado football has a very detailed history, which most of you are not aware off. The Colorado Buffaloes are in existence ever since the 1890s. In the all time total victories, the team is ranked on the 16th spot and if the ranking is done on winning percentage, the team has a ranking of 22.
For Colorado football, Folsom field has been the home since 1924. The team has a total of 27 bowl games to its account and has a record setting score of 12-15 in the total of those games played. The school also scored the title of national champions in 1990, though split with Georgia Tech. Back in the days, the team was coached by Bill McCartney, who was responsible for coaching the team for a total of 13 seasons.
The Colorado football team as of now is a team playing in the Big 12 Conference. The team has been an active member of the highly respected conference since year 1996. But in 2010, month of June, the team was given an invitation to play at the PAC-10 Conference, which it accepted. The change in the alteration of conference it plays for will not change till the season of 2012, which is next year. When one thinks about Colorado football, there are names of former coaches that also come into mind. One of the first person to coach the team back in 1894 was Harry Heller. The next coach after Heller was Fred Folsom. Moreover, Bill McCartney has also coached the team and is rather amongst the most popular ones to ever coach the team as he has a total of 93 win-games to his account. The team’s latest coach is Dan Hawkins who assumed control as the coach of the team in 2006. Even though the record compiled by him in a total of four seasons hasn’t been impressive, some are in his favor. Nonetheless, Bill has been pressurized to get removed as the head coach of the team.
